Roadmap and business case
A plan with indicative time savings, what to do now, next and later, and which AI tools suit your team.
Three kinds of opportunity
Many are small, specific tasks that can be put in place quickly.
Quick wins
Most businesses start hereEveryday tasks done with an approved AI tool, such as drafting replies or summarising long email chains.
Assistants and workflows
Assistants set up for a repeated process using your own templates, such as reports or meeting packs.
Custom builds
Larger projects that need technical development and their own budget, such as a staff knowledge base.

Putting the roadmap into action
This is where the savings in the roadmap are realised. Each piece is tailored to the priorities you choose. It could include:
- A practical training plan tailored to the needs of your team and the tools you use.
- Building the priority opportunities, with highly experienced engineers brought in for any custom builds.
- An AI policy covering approved tools and how data is used, with a GDPR review.
- A governance guide for how AI is managed day to day.
There is no obligation to continue after Phase 1.

What is an AI Roadmap Discovery?
A fixed-fee review of how your team works today, ending with a plan that shows where AI can save your team time and what to do first. It is built from one-to-one conversations with your team, so every recommendation is tailored to your business.
How much of our team's time does it take?
Each person interviewed gives about an hour and a half, and we usually speak with six to ten roles, depending on the size of your business. We agree the full schedule with you at kick-off.
How much does it cost?
The discovery starts from €6,000 excluding VAT. It is a fixed fee, agreed before we start, and depends mainly on how many roles we speak with. We confirm it after a short first conversation.
Is there funding available?
Some businesses may be eligible for grant aid towards AI and digital projects. Eligibility varies, so we research the options that may apply to you as part of the discovery.
Do we need to be technical?
No. The discovery is designed for non-technical teams and everything is explained in plain language. Where a project needs technical development, we bring in experienced engineers.
We already use ChatGPT or Copilot. Is this still useful?
Most small businesses now use tools like these, often for a handful of tasks on personal accounts. The discovery looks at where AI can make a measurable difference across your team, using approved tools safely.
Which AI tools do you work with?
We specialise in Claude and Microsoft Copilot, and also work with ChatGPT. We recommend the tools that suit your team and the systems you already use, such as Microsoft 365.
What happens to our data during the discovery?
We remove names and identifying details before any interview notes go into an AI tool, and everything stays confidential.
Will AI tools use our business information to train their models?
By default, the business versions of Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude do not use your data to train their models. Free and personal accounts can work differently, which is one reason the roadmap recommends approved business tools.
Do we need an AI policy?
If your team uses AI at work, a short policy setting out approved tools and how data is handled is a sensible step. We can prepare one in Phase 2, alongside a GDPR review.
Does the EU AI Act apply to my business?
Yes, if your business uses AI at work, including everyday tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot. For most small businesses the main duties are supporting staff to build AI literacy and labelling AI-generated images, audio or video that could be mistaken for real. Stricter rules for higher-risk uses, such as AI in recruitment, apply from December 2027.
Can you give legal advice on the AI Act?
We support businesses with AI literacy training, a record of the AI tools in use and practical policies. We are not solicitors, and where a question needs legal advice we will say so and point you to a specialist.
Who will we work with?
Syncrowest is run by its two directors, Kiara Murtagh and Enda Murtagh. Kiara leads our discovery programmes and training, and you may work with either of us.
Do you work outside Mayo?
Yes. We are based in Co. Mayo and work with businesses across Ireland and internationally.
Are we committed to Phase 2?
No. Phase 1 stands on its own and there is no obligation to continue. You can act on the roadmap yourselves or with us.
